Something for Everyone...

Blair Bond – “I” Beach
I arose early at about 7 ish again this morning and stopped by Starbucks for a morning java blast which has become my daily routine.  I have some coffee and read for about an hour before heading back to the hostel.  I’m a little citied-out and have decided to head out to Bondi Beach for the day.  I’m not sure who may join me and I am happy to hear at the last minute that Annie and Hudson will be tagging along for the day.  We purchase our tickets and head out.  Annie and I grab a chicken caesar wrap on the way to the bus stop.  We miss the first bus not realizing you have to flag it down to get it to stop.  The next bus approaches and I throw Hudson into the intersection to get the drivers attention…just kidding.  We get on the bus and start singing Bondi Beach..here we come…Bondi Beach…here we come…just kidding again.  We get to the beach, scope the situation and find a spot near the water.  This beach is much different than Manly Beach from the other day.  This is more of a family oriented beach in a semi-circular cove with low rise condos on the terraced hills along the outer edges.  It is low tide with a sandbar extending a pretty good ways out...similar to Topsail X2.  Annie and Hudson go for a dip in the chilli water while Uncle Blair hangs back.  After a swim, Hudson and I walk the beaches and enjoy a little people watching.   We discover the Chinese really really like to have their pictures taken at the shore line in long pants and long shirts and then leave without hanging on the beach, the Indian fellas don’t own bathing suits and go swimming in their skivvies,  young children from anywhere in the world all behave similarly at the ocean edge.  Hudi and I spot a family nearby that has shown up with ice cream cones.  The youngest is approx. 3-4 years old and is waving his ice cream cone parallel to the ground.  I say Hudi…how long you think it is before that kid drops his cone in the sand.  We have a little laugh and Hudson proceeds to give me a play by play analysis of the kids every move thereafter.  Eventually the kid is tired of his cone and gives it to the father who has noticed Hudi’s interest and comes over and offers Hudi the rest of the cone.  He declines.  It is getting late in the day, so we pack up for stroll into town before leaving.  I purchase a t-shirt, we grab a bite to eat and head back to meet up with Sharon, Paulie and Sam.  For dinner we go back to the Asian food court, that has a little something for everyone, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Malaysian, Indian, etc.  After dinner Sharon and I spend quite a bit of time trying to figure out the best transportation method out of Sydney (van, camper van, train).  We agree to meet again early in the morning and go to bed with some loose ends left open.

Annie Bondi Beach entry
Today we were going to go to the Sydney zoo, but Blair wanted to go to Bondi beach.  Hudson and I thought that sounded a little better than going to the zoo for the day so we decided to go to the beach with Blair and mom, dad, and Sam went to the zoo.  We walked up to the bus stop near out house and along the way we stopped and Blair and I got a chicken Cesar rap because we didn’t know what kind of food was going to be at the beach.  Then we caught the 333 bus to Bondi, and rode in the bus for about 25 minutes until we saw sand and then get out.  We found a nice place on the beach near the water and we set up out stuff.  Hudson and I went swimming even though it was very very cold water.  When we came out Blair said he saw something up the beach that looked like a kitty pool and wanted to walk up there and check it out, so I stayed with our stuff while Hudson and Blair walked up the beach.  When they got back they said it was but they didn’t really want to go in it because there was probably a lot of little kids pee in it.  They wanted to walk in the other direction to look at the other side of the beach, so I decided to stay again while they walked up to the other end.  Right when they were getting back from their walk a huge group decided to plop themselves down right in front of us.  They were only a few inches maybe a foot or so away from us and all we could see were their heads and their umbrellas.  Then the men decided to go in their underwear, and that was when we decided to move away from them to another spot on the beach.  There were plenty to choose from right next to us, so we found a nice spot and got re-setup in our new place for a while.  Once it started to get colder we walked into town to look around and find Hudson something to eat for lunch.  We found a kebab stand and Blair and Hudson got a wrap type thing.  We walked around town until they were finished and then caught the 33 train back to Sydney and waited for the others back in our hostel.  When they came back we rested for a while and then went out for dinner, Hudson didn’t come because he had had a big wrap just before then.  When we came home we chilled out for a while, while mom and Blair were in the lobby looking for a camper and then went to sleep.

Hudson:
Today I get up and hear that I have one of two choices, to go to the beach with blair and annie, or go to the zoo with my parents and sam. I am so tired of being with my parents I go get my bathing suit, and we head to the bus stop. We get on and have to wait for at least 10 stops. We get off and we can already see the beach so we head over to it and pick a spot and settle in. me and annie go into the water but blair stays behind to look after all our stuff because we don’t want it to get stolen. Then me and blair go down to the left side of the beach because we thought we saw a baby pool but when we get there we realize that its probably full of piss so we go and head up to take a look at a café an me and blair spot two or three girls that are topless and suddenly start walking a little slower and we got up and find the café is closed for mardi gras so we head back and see a sign that reads by 2040 the water level of the sea will be at least 3 feet higher than it already is. We walk back and check on Annie who is tanning and the we walk to the other side of the beach to look at a really nice hotel and go back and notice that some indian migraters are settling right in front of us, blair gets mad but doesn’t say anything but when they start undressing into their underwear superman weenie bikini we move to a perfect location without the horrible smell of whatever they were eating and them in a whole. We left and got onto the bus and went home

Sam – ZOO DAY
Today we could not decide what we were going to do, so me, mom and dad went to the zoo.  We boarded the 555 bus that drove us to the harbor where we walked to the “Rocks” and had something to eat. Then, I went back to the place where we saw the people making candy and we saw them dumping a bunch of candy out and mixing it up and putting it into buckets to sell.  Then we walked to the wharf where we bought tickets to board the ferry.  When we got on the ferry we got really good seats because we were one of the first people to get onto the ferry.  We watched a bird catch a fish outside of our window while we were waiting for the rest of the people to get on and then we started and he flew away.  It wasn’t a very long ride to the zoo.  When we got there we got onto a bus that drove us to the main entrance of the zoo.  Then we got a map and we saw that the seal show was going to be soon, but we had enough time to stop by and quickly see the Koalas and then we walked by the giraffes that got so close to us.  When we finally got to the seal show there weren’t many seats left, but we got seats anyway.  The seal show was amazing and my favorite part was when the seal did a double back flip and jumped out of the water.  Then we went back to see the Koalas again to see another show, but it was at a different place.  So we went and saw the monkeys.  The monkeys were disgusting because they were doing gross things that my mom won’t let me write here.  After that we went to go find the gorillas, but we stopped at a lot of other places first.  There was a peacock walking around and I took a picture.  Then we saw a Tasmanian Devil, a Platypus, several Kangaroos, an Emu, Spider Monkeys, Penguins, Elephants, Birds, Sea Lions and a wombat.  The wombat was awesome, even though it was sleeping the whole time.  We were really tired at that point and the zoo was closing, so we decided to do one last thing which was the sky safari.  We didn’t see much on the sky safari except elephants and “black weasels” as my dad called the weird black birds.  Then we rode back on the sky safari and caught the ferry back and got a bus to our hostel.  Dee End
