Early morning wake up call & last night in Hawaii

Since all of the electricity was suddenly turned off while we were out and about, we had no idea the number of switches we actually flicked on while testing the electricity.  However, at about 3am we found out.  Paulie was awakened to the sound of the stereo and a fully illuminated house.  We also experienced the most wonderful rain storm during the night.  Since this house has no AC and aided by the lack of electricity, we had all of the windows and doors open to let in the wonderful, tropical breezes and we felt like we were sleeping in a tree house once the rain storm appeared.  By morning,   all was clear and we were free to begin the packing up process.  It is hard to leave this secluded spot when we know there is so much more we could do here.  I have a feeling we are going to be experiencing those same sentiments alot along our journey.  We get fed and packed up and head out for our long ride across the island back to Kona to turn in the rental car and fly back to Honolulu for our last night before venturing off to Fiji.  The drive is uneventful and we make good time back.  We stop alongside of the road for a picnic to eat up some of our last supplies and enjoy PB&J sandwiches for an early lunch.  The return of the rental car goes smoothly and before we know it we are sitting at the departure gate ready to head back.  Our flight has a slight delay, but once underway it is a hop, skip and a jump and we are back on Oahu.  The rental car is a bit of a fiasco, but we manage to finally get a car by around 5:00.  We retrace our steps to our hotel and unpack.  We go back to our familiar store - Don Quijote- and eat dinner from the take out stands there.  We return the kids to the hotel and Paulie and I venture off to a bookstore to replace the book I left behind in our Hilo house.  Early to bed and ready for our next adventure.
