February 27:
We are all sad that Blair’s visit is coming to an end. This is his last full day with us in
Australia, although his bus to Cairns only leaves at 8:00 tomorrow night. We were hoping for clear skies, but just when
we got our sunscreen on the rain is pouring down. It is the funniest weather here. One minute bright and sunny, the next minute
raining cats and dogs. Annie and Blair
make us breakfast. I do some schoolwork
with the kids and then we go to the pool at our complex anyway and stay out
while the rain is pouring down on us. The
sun finally comes out and so we go to the Lagoon and swim in the shallow
waters, playing with the water ball that Blair brought. Annie and I sneak off to a shop and poke
around and then Hudson and I sneak off to a shop and while we are in there it
starts pouring rain. We find our group
and are soaked to the bone by the time we arrive at the car. Upon our return to the condo, we shower and
settle in for a cozy night. I stop by
the nearby grocery to purchase our dinner preparations – good ole American hamburgers
with baked beans!! Before dinner, Blair
and I sneak off to MacDonald’s where we hear they have free Wifi to check on
email and such. We are wanting to see if
we have any communications from Mom as to how Grand-mommy Bea is doing, but I
guess no news is good news. We return
home to a fabulous meal prepared by Hudson “The BurgerMan” Wiedmer. After dinner, we watch the Academy Awards and
call it a night.
